Which eco-friendly Pro-Tek cleaner should you use to clean your driveway? So many choices! What are the differences? Well, for starters, the scent. Cherry is our best seller, but maybe you’re more of a lemon or orange kind of person. We got you covered. For extra greasy messes (think mechanic shops or anything to do with any sort of grease), HD works the fastest. You can actually watch it work. Yeah, that fast. So, while you probably already have a gallon of cherry at home, if you want to speed through this project, take advantage of our sale below to pick up some HD.
Step 2: Clear the Driveway
Remove anything in your driveway such as vehicles, toys, or potted plants. This will give you a clear working space and prevent any damage to your belongings during the cleaning process.
Step 3: Sweep the Surface
Don your safety goggles to protect your eyes from flying dust and dirt particles. (Don’t you look beguiling.) Start by sweeping the entire driveway using a broom or brush with stiff bristles or leaf blower. This will remove loose debris, leaves, and dirt from the surface.
Step 4: Treat Stains
If your driveway has stubborn stains like oil or grease spots, a 5:1 solution of eco-friendly Pro-Tek™ will make them disappear! Fill your spray bottle with 3.25 oz of Pro-Tek™. Fill the rest of the bottle with clean water. Saturate the stain and let sit a few minutes. (This is a great time to get a glass of lemonade.) Use a scrub brush to agitate the stain and break it down before rinsing it off.
Step 5: Use a Pressure Washer
If you have access to a pressure washer, it will make the cleaning process much easier and efficient. Feel the powa! Attach the appropriate nozzle to the pressure washer and adjust the pressure setting according to the type of surface you’re cleaning. Begin by spraying water evenly across the driveway to moisten the entire surface.
Step 6: Apply Soapy Water
Fill your bucket with a 10:1 solution of Pro-Tek™ by mixing a gallon of water with 14 oz of Pro-Tek™. Apply the cleaning solution evenly over the driveway. Allow it to penetrate the surface for a few minutes, but avoid letting it dry. This will help to loosen dirt and grime.
Step 7: Scrub the Surface
Using a scrub brush or a deck brush, work the cleaning solution into the driveway surface. Scrub in a back-and-forth motion to ensure thorough cleaning.

Step 8: Rinse Thoroughly
Using a pressure washer or a garden hose, rinse the driveway thoroughly. Start from the top and work your way down, ensuring that all the cleaning solution and debris are washed away. If you happen to notice any kids running around in swimsuits and they happen to tease you about your safety goggles, well, you have a hose. Just sayin’.
Step 9: Allow the Driveway to Dry
Give your driveway ample time to dry completely before allowing any foot or vehicle traffic. This will prevent any dirt or debris from adhering to the wet surface.
Step 10: Apply a Sealant (optional)
To protect your newly cleaned driveway and extend its lifespan, you may choose to apply an eco-friendly sealant. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to apply the sealant evenly. Allow it to dry completely before using the driveway.
Cleaning your driveway doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By following these step-by-step instructions and using Pro-Tek™, you can restore the beauty of your driveway and enhance your home’s curb appeal the eco-friendly way. Annual cleaning and maintenance will not only keep your driveway looking pristine but also prolong its life. Doesn’t that feel good? Boy, your driveway looks great!
